For its impact in enhancing access to information, education and culture throughout the world and in many different contexts, the Ideas Box has received several awards and labels.
Google Impact Challenge | France
In September 2015, Libraries Without Borders - France, was awarded the Google Impact Challenge | France, a contest organized by the philanthropic arm of Google.org, to support and promote innovative projects that can have a positive impact on the world. LWB France received a 500,000 euro prize as well as support from the Social Factory and Googlers.
La France s'Engage
In March 2015, the Ideas Box received the "La France s'Engage" award, an initiative by the President of the French Republic François Hollande that gives recognition to innovative social projects in France and throughout the world.
The WISE project Accelerator, organized by the Qatar Foundation, selects and rewards each year innovative players capable of having a sustainable and positive impact on education. The Ideas Box was awarded the WISE in 2014 and received one year of support and expertise from a global network of partner sand experts in education to implement the development strategy over the coming years.
The Ideas Box reached the finals in the fourth edition of LAUNCHedu in 2015, a competition supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which brings together innovative international initiatives in education.
In November 2014, Jeremy Lachal, General Director of Libraries Without Borders - France, introduced the Ideas Box at TEDx Paris.
In September 2015, Jérémy Lachal, General Director of LibrariesWithout Borders - France, was named Ashoka Fellow. Through Ashoka, LWB will receive coaching for the development of Ideas Box for entrepreneurs, a program aimed at creating social business through the Ideas Box.
