Tuesday November 3rd, 2015, Libraries Without Borders participated in the launch of Social Good Week, a French organization intended to find ways to use the Internet as a mobilizing tool, at the centre Pompidou in Paris. For the occasion, the Ideas Box was set up and exhibited!
During the launch conference, several people of note like Chief Communications and Marketing Officer of the United Nations Foundation Aaron Sherinian and co-founder of Singa France Guillaume Capelle, an organization that facilitates interactions between refugees and their host countrys, presented their projects and inspiring ideas. Then, Patrick Kanner, the minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, concluded the afternoon by congratulating several organizations including Libraries Without Borders!
The 300 participants at the launch event then took part in a cocktail hour to talk about several different social and technological initiatives. Many people took the opportunity to visit the Ideas Box and learn more about the different programs that Libraries Without Borders runs, especially Voyageurs du Code, or Code Travelers.
